Abstract

In the present study samples were collected from the three different locations of Tons river of Andhra pradesh State from December, 2019 to July, 2021 on the monthly basis for the study of zooplankton diversity. During the present investigation, a total of 23 genera of zooplankton belonging to 7 major groups viz. Ciliophore, Cladocera, Copepod, Porifera, Rotifera, Ostracod and Zooflagellate have been reported from the river within the district Guntur. The maximum zooplankton genera were recorded at site-II followed by site-III and site-I respectively. Diversity index of zooplankton ranged between (‘H’) 0.000-0.198 at site I, (‘H’) 0.00-0.240 at site II and (‘H’) 0.00-0.223 at site III.
