URBAN COMMUNITY LANGUAGE PATTERNS IN INDONESIAN METROPOP NOVELS FOR THE PERIOD OF 2000-2020

Abstract

: This research is motivated by the existence of a cultural phenomenon of urban communities expressed in Indonesian metropop novels from 2000-2020. This study aims to explain the language patterns of urban communities in metropop novels. The method used is qualitative research with the type of literary research, while the object of this research is Indonesian metropop novels. Determination and determination of the object of research is done by using a purposive technique. The findings obtained from the analysis of language patterns in the novels found three forms of language used in communication, namely prokem language (slang) which shows identity, identity, and characteristics as a community, then foreign language (English) which shows part of the community. from the lifestyle of the urban community who live and live in big cities, then the regional language which shows it as one of the products of national culture.
