THE REALITY OF MUSEUM LIBRARIES IN IRAQ

Abstract

The research aims to identify the reality of museum libraries in Iraq in terms of their historical establishment, the human resources working in them, their library collections, the services they provide to the beneficiaries, in addition to the building and furniture, and to identify the events and activities they provide. Interview with museum librarians, in addition to observation through repeated visits to the library to complete the process of collecting data and information related to the research topic. The research reached several results, including 1. Lack of human resources specialized in the field of information and libraries 2. Lack of adequate equipment and furniture in all libraries. 3. There are no financial specializations available in the libraries. The research came out with a set of recommendations and suggestions, including 1. Providing libraries with human resources specialized in the field of information and libraries. 2. Work to provide the appropriate equipment and furniture. 3. The necessity of providing an independent budget for libraries
